Mark is the Chief Strategy Officer for the 22 agencies within the Havas UK Group, bringing together creative and media strategy teams into one community within the Havas Village, whilst also leading strategy for key clients within the group. Mark specifically runs our Maersk, Molson Coors, Compare the Market, and Lloyds Banking Group clients. Mark has held the role of Chief Strategy Officer for the last 16 years across four different agency groups. He joined Havas in 2016, from M&C Saatchi where he ran the integrated strategy unit and led behaviour change strategy across Public Health England as well as NatWest and Virgin Holidays accounts. Before that he held the position of President for Strategy across Ogilvy Group in Asia Pacific – overseeing integrated strategy across 20 markets and 200+ strategists. In Asia he helped deliver Ogilvy’s first ever Grand Prix success for Coca-Cola. He’s spent time client-side, too – nearly four years as Marketing Director at ASDA (Walmart), responsible for a GBP £100m budget and all aspects of brand experience as well as introducing the world’s first “price guarantee” initiative. Prior to that he was CSO at Fallon where he led the strategy for Sony and designed the strategy that led to the highly awarded ‘Sony Balls’ campaign, as well as delivering fame for Cadbury’s with the iconic ‘Drumming Gorilla’ campaign.
