Lucy Jameson, Co-Founder, Uncommon Creative Studio

Lucy is one of the founders of Uncommon Creative Studio. She is regarded as one of the best strategic planners of her generation, having been rated in or at the top of Campaign’s Top Ten Planner list many times. She has worked in every sector and led many global accounts, for clients such as Pepsico’s Quaker, Unilever’s ice cream & Marmite brands, Budweiser, VW, ITV, Virgin Media, The Financial Times, HSBC, Google, Pinterest and British Airways. She’s worked across brand strategy, design, advertising, digital and CX.

She started at BMP DDB (the home of account planning) and ended up running DDB and Tribal DDB’s Global Planning Group and sat on DDB’s Global Executive Committee. Under her guidance, DDB London was IPA Effectiveness Agency of the Year three times in a row.

Lucy then joined Grey as EMEA/London CSO where she also steered Grey to win Agency of the Year at IPA Effectiveness and the Euro Effies. She was promoted to CEO of 550 strong Grey London in Jan 2015, overseeing Grey’s strongest run of awards, new business and commercial success, before leaving at the end of 2016 to set up Uncommon with Nils and Natalie, which has now been listed as one of the most Innovative Companies by Fast Company in 2024.

She’s a regular speaker, writes a monthly column for Campaign and mentors rising diverse talent and start-ups. She’s also mother to a grumpy teenager, who thinks advertising sucks!
